Galvanized steel sheets are protected by attaching a zinc layer (zinc-iron alloy layer + pure zinc layer) on the surface of the steel sheet. Zinc is more chemically active than iron and is preferentially oxidized in a corrosive environment to form a dense zinc oxide film, which blocks water and oxygen from contacting the steel matrix and protects the damaged area through a "sacrificial anode" mechanism. This process can extend the life of steel to 20-30 years, and is particularly suitable for harsh environments such as humidity and industrial pollution.
 

Hot-dip galvanized sheet (SGCC): The steel sheet is immersed in molten zinc liquid (about 450ºC) to form a coating. The zinc layer is thicker, generally 60-300g/m², with strong corrosion resistance, but poor surface uniformity. It is widely used in construction, automotive structural parts and other fields.
Electrogalvanized sheet (SECC): The zinc layer is deposited by electrolyte. The thickness is thinner, usually 10-50g/m², with a smooth and uniform surface and good processability. It is suitable for products with high requirements for surface quality and processing accuracy, such as home appliances and electronic product shells.
